Check out writer/director Taylor Sheridan’s most popular movies and TV series on IMDb, ranked by user rating. A landowner, at least one who works in the oil industry, will serve as a middleman between exploration companies and landowners.
Essentially, they manage the land and secure the leases, so that they can drill for oil and gas
Typically, a landowner’s job is to negotiate and finalize contracts with landowners who have mineral rights to lease those rights to the company they represent. Like a foreman on a construction site, they build roads, build housing for workers (man camps), assemble the excavation machinery, and drill the well itself, especially in remote locations.

They are also part fixer, part problem solver, and part facilitator. I have to start by saying that I am a huge fan of almost anything Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone, Mayor of Kingstown, 1923, 1883, Tulsa King, Lioness, Sicario, He’ll or Highwater, Wind River, etc, etc).
This is another hit for Sheridan
He hits home run after home run and Landman is no exception. Landman is set in modern day Texas where everyone from billionaires to thugs are trying to get rich off the oil industry.
This series follows Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) as he tries to lead his company to the top during the oil boom
I would recommend this series to anyone looking for a good new series to watch, especially if you are a fan of Taylor Sheridan.
